The Kwad is a very forgiving board in perfect and less than perfect surf. Slightly faster rocker line and slightly fuller nose outline makes for great stability and paddling even in rougher conditions. The classic flat bottom throughout the board blending into the “V” in the tail coupled with the quad fin set up gives the board maximum speed and maneuverability in all conditions.

9-1 Kwad Carbon 130L -This is my windy, choppy day board of choice . It gives me good stability, paddles great though the surf, cross chop and backwash. The wider nose (20 1/4″) is good for some nose riding fun and also helps me get into waves I would miss with the pointed nose boards:)On glassy offshore days its to easy:) Being a Kwad and light weight, its fast down the line and you can pump into some sections and beat’um. If you are my weight or heavier you will easily carving into some cut backs and be throwing some water around.

8-7 Kwad Carbon & JL standard construction 115L- These are my small /big glassy , offshore day boards to go to. Paddling is easy, not submerged, catching waves is also easy with the wider nose(19 3/4″), the rocker / rail shapes/foil of these boards makes it” real easy” to throw around and have a blasts of fun !!! Which ever construction you choose , they are tough !

So if you are thinking like me and want to down size to get a looser board but still have the buoyancy to paddle the Kwad is my suggestion.

    Thanks ,
    Mr. Lewis and Marlon 🙂
